Internet Marketing Startup
First of all why do you want to enter into the Internet marketing
world? You want a greater exposure? Do you want to extend your
services, or educate the market about your products? Whatever the
reason is, internet marketing is a must these days.
First of all you must see where your competitors stand.
Now marketing on internet it's not easy and it requires a lot of
work if you are on a tight budget. You should check your competition
before even thinking buying a domain name. See their internet
marketing strategy first. You can check their current traffic rank at
alexa and what websites link to them. If they have an affiliate
program join and ask them their conversion ratemany tell their
affiliates the conversion rate. Does your competition offer something
unique? Do they have gaps in their offer? Now the next thing you must
buy a domain name . Think of a domain name for your web site that's
easy to remember. It should be related to what your
business does, sells or provides. Be sure to get one that it's easy
to spell and easy to remember. Also check to see domain name hasn't
been trademarked by someone else.
Now after you have done that, you must think about your internet
marketing campaign. It must be targeted ( you can't market to
everyone ) . Is your marketing targeting adults, teens, males,
females ? What groups and associations do they belong? Etc And most
important "Can they easily afford your product or service?" . Now
your product or service must be a solution to your targeted market.
In that way must be presented to them. How does your product solve
their problem? How it is different from your competitor?
The image of your business is your website. Build a professional
website, make it easy to navigate, and very easy to find what you are
selling. Stay away from flash files, all kind of eye-catching images
that will distract your feature costumers and be sure to put a search
box too. Use pictures or graphics on your web site that support the
product you're selling. They could give your visitors a clearer
vision of your product, the
benefits of the product, people's emotion when they own the product,
etc. You could also use 'before'and 'after' pictures.
Now the most important tool in internet marketing is email. Email
marketing is one of the cheapest and effective ways to sell, keep in
touch with existing customers, or feature customers. So it is very
valuable to collect e-mail addresses from visitors to your Web site.
Make sure you include a privacy policy where you describe how you are
going to use their persoanl information.
Include a signature file on all the e-mails you send out. Provide
your business name, phone number,e-mail and web address, etc. Also
include a brief blurb for your business or the product you're selling.
Now about your internet marketing strategy; How do you plan to bring
yourself in front of the people that will buy your product? How you
will you bring traffic to your website? Search engine optimization,
pay per click, writing articles..? Outsource part of your workload.
This can save on employee costs, equipment costs, taxation costs,
expansion costs, etc. You should keep the work you enjoy doing and
get rid of the rest. You need the extra time to enjoy life.
Your internet marketing campaign is only part of your overall
marketing plan. Internet marketing complements your offline marketing
